Grammy Award Winning Engineer/Mixer
Matt Champlin is a Grammy Award-winning mixing/recording engineer, based out of Los Angeles, CA. His career in the industry has included work for an array of iconic artists, such as Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige, Nelly Furtado, Sam Smith, and hit producer Rodney Jerkins, among others. For his work on Smith’s chart-topping album “Stay with Me,” Champlin was awarded his first Grammy for “Record of the Year.” In 2016, Tim Bowman’s gospel album “Listen,” which Champlin mixed and recorded, was nominated for “Best Gospel Album of the Year.”
A Las Vegas, NV native, Champlin showed an early interest in music starting with piano at age five, growing his repertoire to include drums, percussion, guitar, bass, and keyboards. He studied drums and Music Performance with a Jazz Emphasis at University of Nevada, Reno. After discovering a passion for recording and mixing, he continued his studies at Berklee College of Music where he graduated with a degree in Music Production and Engineering. His years of experience not only as an engineer, but also playing music and studying under some of the great producers and artists of our time, have lent a singular musical quality to his work.
